GANDEL FOUNDATION ALLOCATIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY SECTOR’S RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY – phase four
The Board of Directors of Gandel Foundation recently allocated grants and support for the fourth phase of funding for charities working to address the ongoing needs as a result of COVID-19 crisis.
In this phase Gandel Foundation provided support to eight organisations, with a sole focus on food security needs of various vulnerable groups across Victoria.
Below is a full list of grant recipients, in alphabetical order, with a brief description of the funded activity:
Organisation: C Care
Purpose: support for food aid, food packs and additional meals delivered to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the community
Organisation: FareShare
Purpose: scaling up and expansion of the cooked meals program to meet the growing needs
Organisation: Foodbank Victoria
Purpose: One Million Meals campaign, to support the food needs of Victorian families doing it tough
Organisation: Jewish Care
Purpose: support for food vouchers, kosher meals and food boxes for the most vulnerable
Organisation: Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services
Purpose: support for weekly distributions of essential and culturally appropriate food boxes for multicultural families in the Loddon Campaspe region
Organisation: Second Bite
Purpose: support to expand the ‘farmgate program’ and a hydraulic gate for one of the food distribution trucks
Organisation: Souper Kitchen
Purpose: support for increased food community needs of the most vulnerable and marginalised people
Organisation: VACCA
Purpose: support for the distribution of food boxes to vulnerable Indigenous families and community members across regional Victoria (Ovens Murray and Gippsland) and outer metro areas
