Held annually each February, the Peninsula Film Festival is Victoria’s iconic event, with arguably the largest single viewing audience at its free short film festival in Rosebud, Victoria.
On Saturday 2nd February 2019, thousands of locals and visitors alike flocked to the Rosebud village green to enjoy over 20 shortlisted films screened outdoors.
The films were judged live by a panel of celebrity judges including Lachy Hulme (Offspring), Michala Banas (Upper Middle Bogan), Mick Malloy (Triple M), Don Hany (Bad Mothers) Tess Haubrich (Alien: Covenant) and Danielle Burgio.
The
following categories of films were screened and awarded prizes: Best Film,
Woodleigh Emerging Filmmaker, Best Animation, Best Documentary and Best
International Award, supported by Gandel Foundation.
The Best International Film Award was won by
brothers Marat and Maxud Sarsembayev (Kazakhstan) for their film “Where Does
the Heart Call”.
The annual film festival was a huge success again this year, bringing together scores of visitors from the local and regional communities to enjoy movies and celebrate emerging filmmakers. ���
